From Ajaccio to the Gulf of Figari located north of Bonifacio, you will follow the West coast heading south towards Corsica.
A true paradise for kayakers, this coastline is a string of rounded rocks in pinkish hues, interrupted by white sand coves where swimming and exploring the seabed will be on the agenda.
We will do an average of 3 to 5 hours of kayaking per day, accompanied by occasional walks allowing us to appreciate the cultural and natural riches of the places visited (Genoese Towers, coastal path, encounters with locals…).
Optionally: camera, mask and snorkel, card game or compact game, as well as cash for beach bars.
Also ask your doctor and pharmacist for advice. Also remember that you will need to carry your first aid kit, so only bring the minimum necessary.
We also have a luggage storage facility where we can keep items you do not take on the stay. Therefore bring a bag for this purpose, on which your name and the name of the stay will be noted.
Continental breakfast, then cold meal at noon and hot meal in the evening. Meals are prepared by the guide with the help of the whole group. Fresh vegetables, local products and varied menus are planned throughout the itinerant stay.
State-certified guide. A true modern adventurer, they will be able to make you experience adventure through their passion.
We are on the west coast exposed to prevailing winds, but in the morning, the sea is most often flat calm. A breeze often forms around midday, so most of the navigation takes place in the morning.
Programmes are given as a guide. Unforeseen events are always possible and situations beyond our control may modify the course of events (weather, level of participants…). Our guides may thus be led to modify the itinerary depending on the weather or if the safety of the group requires it. In addition, on certain dates, the circuit may be done in reverse.
Equipment provided:
Regulation sea kayak, approved buoyancy aid, spray deck, paddle, plastic waterproof bags, stoves, tarp in case of rain.
The kayaks we use are single and double kayaks in which all belongings are loaded in order to navigate in complete autonomy.
It is also recommended to bring waterproof bags suitable for your equipment (electronics, clothing and sleeping gear), as well as plastic bags (we provide waterproof bags for your equipment, but a «tear» can always happen, so plastic bags are an extra protection).
Although the kayak compartments are large, only take what is strictly necessary. Bulky items (clothing, sleeping bag and mattress) will be placed in the ends of the boats (front and rear tips), while heavy and dense objects (canned food, water) against the cockpit bulkheads.
Welcome at 1pm at Ajaccio airport then transfer to the base for boat preparation.
Departure by minibus towards the South of the Gulf of Ajaccio, then introduction to navigation around the rocks of the Castagna peninsula.
Dinner and night on the beach. Accommodation: in bivouac
We leave the Gulf of Ajaccio at dawn to reach the Gulf of Valinco. Along the way, we discover a first Genoese tower and finally reach, for lunch, a small cove in the heart of the granite cathedral of Capo di Muro. We then take up the kayaks heading for Cupabia bay.
Dinner and night on the beach. Accommodation: in bivouac
After a stop at Porto Pollo, we lunch on the Taravo beach, Corsica's longest river, before taking to the sea again and crossing the Gulf of Valinco. We take advantage of this bivouac to admire a sunset over the sea.
Dinner and night on the beach. Accommodation: in bivouac
After passing Campomoro and its Genoese tower, our itinerary then takes us into the granite chaos at the heart of the Senetosa reserve. We weave through the bays of Agulia, Arana and Conca before setting foot at Capu di Senetosa and discovering the lighthouse and its museum.
Dinner and night on the beach. Accommodation: in bivouac
For this last day of navigation, we leave the Senetosa lighthouse to reach Tizzano beach.
Transfer to the Cors'Aventure base, then return to Ajaccio around 5pm.
